A.S. Cosenza Calcio was an Italian football club based in Cosenza, Calabria. The club relocated from Castrovillari in 2003 as A.S. Cosenza F.C., which the historic team of the city was expelled from 2003–04 Serie C1. Cosenza F.C. finished 7th in 2003–04 Serie D. In 2004 old Cosenza was also admitted to Serie D, but finally withdrew from football activities in 2005. A.S. Cosenza F.C. was renamed to A.S. Cosenza Calcio S.p.A. in 2005. Cosenza F.C., that was successively admitted into Serie D as relocation of rival Calabrian side Castrovillari. In 2005 AS Cosenza FC switched its denomination into A.S. Cosenza Calcio.
